ICUcare engineers continue to demonstrate their creativity and passion towards yet
another technological breakthrough. We call it the eDoc®
1st Responders Emergency Telemedicine System. The planned system is really much
more than "just" another really great telemedicine system, it also has the ability
to serve as a state of the art satellite based communication center as well.
Their stated objective is simple; take everything we learned from the development
of the eDoc® Telemedicine System
(Desktop version) and miniaturize it to fit in an ABS composite luggage case about
the size and weight of a typical large airline bag with retractable wheels.
Sounds easy enough, right? But were not stopping there. Were developing a totally
new software telemedicine application specific for this unique application. You
see, simply providing "store and forward" transfer of all patient information (data
and images) is simply not acceptable. Every situation faced by 1st Responders is
potentially life threatening and demand immediate attention requiring "real time"
connectivity and data processing.
The eDoc® 1st Responders Emergency
Telemedicine System will provide 1st Responders and other Emergency personnel with
access to reliable tele-communication and broadband services and a state-of-the-art
information management system. The system will be designed and built to withstand
the harshest conditions and environments.
